Drinking Away The Winter Blues: Recipes Part I

See here for the introduction post in which I discuss the reason I decided to make this mini-series and the inspiration behind it.

Killin’ the Blues Smoothie

Named after the song by Alison Krauss and Robert Plant, because that is just what this smoothie does: killin’ the winter blues, rocking you softly into the day.

Makes one large smoothie

30g porridge oats (not instant)
2 tbsps chia seeds
200ml almond milk
1/2 cup (or a big handful) of blueberries and blackberries, frozen
a few slices of banana (frozen)

1 banana
1 stalk of kale
1tsp agave syrup/ 1/4 tsp stevia
200ml almond or hazelnut milk
30g porridge oats (not instant)
